FILM INN WORKSHOPS - EXTENDED CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

ELBE DOCK is organising the 2nd edition of FILM INN WORKSHOPS for screenwriters and producers of short fiction and hybrid formats from the V4 countries (Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia). Intensive workshop sessions accompanied by masterclasses, roundtable discussion and networking will take place during September 4-6 at the ELBE DOCK International Film Festival in Ústí nad Labem, Czechia.
Both workshops units, STORY EDITING WORKSHOP and PRODUCERS WORKSHOP will explore the topics and landscape of short film production focusing on the script development, festival strategies, sales and usage of AI in storytelling and film marketing.
Workshops are free of charge and the ELBE DOCK covers participants’ accommodation and travel costs.
Selected projects from this part of the workshop will take part in the follow-up workshop at ŻUBROFFKA International Short Film Festival (December 5-6, 2024 in Białystok, Poland) where participants will focus on sales and distribution of their short film projects.
The language of the workshop is English. The application form and the requested materials are to be submitted via a Google Form. Screenwriters can apply HERE and Producers can applyHERE.

STORY EDITING WORKSHOP
Anne Gensior
Tutor for script development and a script reader for German and international film funds. Since 2012 she has been working as a tutor and script consultant for the producers workshop YAPIMLAB in Istanbul and since 2017 for the MIDPOINT Feature Launch training programme. She has been a member of the selection committee and consultant team of the Antalya Film Forum since 2016. In 2009 Anne participated as a story editor in the Script&Pitch Programme of TorinoFilmLab and joined the script development agency Script House in Berlin.
PRODUCERS WORKSHOP
Enrico Vannucci
Member of the selection committee of Pardi di Domani at the Locarno Film Festival and of the selection committee of LIM - Less Is More, and the Creative Advisor of the short film development programme MASO. He has worked in film festivals and markets since 2010, in particular collaborating with the Venice Film Festival and TSFM, which he co-founded in 2016. He also co-founded Varicoloured, a holistic short film agency, in 2018, Talking Shorts, an online film magazine dedicated to short films, in 2020 and Talents Generator Factory, a company dedicated to the development of new audiovisuals by emerging and established professionals, in 2022. In 2021, he became a member of the European Film Academy.
Guest speakers:
Maike Mia Höhne is a German film director, film curator, professor of film, mother of two children. Her curatorial focus is on feminist political film. After directing the Berlinale Shorts, she took over the artistic direction of the Hamburg Short Film Festival. With her company Pinkmovies she produces the magazine Court-Circuit for ARTE with her partner Lilli Thalgott. She works as a professor for film at the University of Applied Science Europe in Hamburg. She is a member of the European Film Academy and the Freie Akademie der Künste in Hamburg.
Nicolò Gallio is a marketing and communications consultant with a background in PR, media relations, and content management for films, festivals, brands, and non-profit organisations. He currently serves as an advisor for the TorinoFilmLab Audience Design Fund and works as a researcher and strategist at the Berlin-based film marketing agency Alphapanda, supporting scriptwriters, filmmakers, and producers across fiction films, documentaries, and TV series. He is also a trainer for international film development initiatives and holds a Ph.D. in Film Studies from the University of Bologna (Italy), where he focused on the relationship between production, consumption, and critical reception of audiovisual works within offline and digital environments.
Markus Walsch is a creative media professional with expertise in AI-aided storytelling and the development of films and TV series. With a background in journalism and digital media production, he has developed numerous TV, radio and online formats for public and private media. Markus has been nominated for the International Emmy Award and other awards. He also works as a coach and lecturer for content marketing and AI-storytelling. Markus is always at the AI-forefront with great passion, constantly exploring new developments in AI and finding ways to incorporate them into film and TV series development.
Prof. Taç Romey is an expert in storytelling, dramaturgy, and film. With a background in acting, directing, and dramaturgy from the Brown University in the USA, he has developed numerous series and films, written scripts, and directed productions. Taç is the founder and CEO of the Phantomfilm GmbH in Munich and Amsterdam, where he produced the award-winning Amazon series "Der Lack ist ab". He is also a professor of serial storytelling at the HFF Munich, where he teaches storytelling, character development, and scriptwriting. His projects have received several nominations and awards, including the International Emmy and the German Television Award.
