Cinema Walk

Cinema Walk

An evening journey through the city, where streets and buildings are transformed into temporary cinema screens. Together, we’ll follow a route under the Nusle Bridge and through Prague 2. At several stops along the way, short screenings will be waiting for us, bringing both familiar and unexpected corners of the city to life. Screenings in public spaces combine walking, exploring the city and the cinematic experience into a unique event that transforms the view on Prague and on film itself.

The programme will be held in Czech.

The event starts at 8.30 p.m. under the Nusle Bridge, near the Vyšehrad metro station, line C (exact coordinates: 50.0636879, 14.4307371). The whole event will take place outdoors and last approximately 90 minutes. We recommend warm clothing, sturdy footwear and a raincoat or umbrella.

Contact person: Markéta Frajerová (+420 604 618 371)

The evening will be guided by short films and Láďa Čumba.

Programme duration is 60 minutes.

The Animated shorts for the youngest programme combines screenings of short animated films with original musical performance created live on stage. The musicians blend electronic sounds with live instruments, and their performance responds to the images on screen, the atmosphere in the auditorium and the children themselves. The performance demonstrates that music is an integral part of film – it accounts for up to half of the cinematic experience, and its variations can fundamentally alter the meaning and tone of scenes. Audience will experience how the same image can become suspenseful, cheerful or poetic simply thanks to the musical accompaniment.

Live music will be performed by musician and composer Petr Wajsar.

Sounds of Games: Bomberman, Bulánci & Mario Kart with live music

Sounds of Games: Bomberman, Bulánci & Mario Kart with live music

Sounds of Games is an evening when ordinary video gaming turns into a concert. The audience becomes players, and their actions on the big screen are accompanied by a musician who creates beats, samples, and unexpected sounds live. Together, they journey through different game worlds, genres, and eras–from pixelated retro classics to futuristic adventures. Gaming chaos + live music + audience = one big show where no one knows what will happen in the next level.

The musical accompaniment will be performed by William Valerián – a chameleon of the theatre, acting and music. A slightly eccentric character who graduated from DAMU, much to his mum’s delight. He plays the saxophone and various electronic gadgets, and occasionally just bangs away at the piano for fun. People remember him for several reasons: his unmistakable energy and exuberance. He’s a musician who’s playful with genres, original and distinctive. The whole Sounds of Games performance will be one big, laid-back beer and a bit of a chill-out!

The co-pilot of this laid-back affair will be Jarda Slámečka, a champion at collecting hobbies: gamer, tabletop RPG storyteller, fantasy reader, barista and a prime example of a squirrel’s attention span. Expect unfinished sentences, jokes without punchlines, but also a deep dive into the world of gaming and science fiction, as if led by a professional diver. Jarda is a long-standing host of gastronomic events, one of the presenters on the Candycane Coffee podcast, and was a guest on the Lootbox podcast in an episode dedicated to the world of the Alien phenomenon. He organises board game events and is a lifelong fan of computer and other games.

Film education for the very youngest

Cinemini is a globally unique film education project for children aged 3 to 6. It combines short, unconventionally conceived films with specially developed activities that stimulate children’s imagination and enhance their film-watching experience. In a fun way, we help children discover the world of film and audiovisual media, whilst developing their creativity, critical thinking and a positive relationship with film from a very young age.

Under the guidance of an experienced lecturer, we screen several short films from different eras, cultures and genres for the children. After each film, the lecturer engages the children in a discussion about their impressions, feelings and thoughts evoked by the film, and encourages them to interact with one another. Creativity and a deeper engagement with the film come to the fore through activities such as drawing, craft-making or movement, specially designed for each film, which enable the children not only to understand the film better, but above all to fully experience it.
