OPEN CALL: Understanding Your Audience

How can you start thinking about your audience already in development and build a relationship that doesn’t end with the premiere?
The workshop is targeted at emerging filmmakers from the V4 region (Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia) who want to better understand who they are making films for and how to actively engage with their audience.
Through the principles of audience design and audience development, we’ll explore ways to think about audiences from the earliest ideas through to the film’s release. The workshop offers a space for sharing experiences and finding your own approach to building connections with the audiences.
We recommend applying with a project that is developed enough so it can be clearly defined in terms of story, genre, and therefore audiences.
The workshop is part of the project Visegrad Audiovisal LAB and will take place at BOO International Film Festival in Prague on November 7, 2025.
