In the midst of a gray city an elderly gardener named Alan lives. His tiny apartment is a haven full of lush greenery until one day, when Death appears at his doorstep. Despite his best efforts to ditch the unwelcome visitor, Death always stays close, admiring every little plant. Unfortunately, she struggles to keep them alive, and Alan cannot suppress his frustration any longer. Their relationship takes wild turns, but in the end, Death finds understanding, and Alan accepts her presence, despite all his denial.
