BOO is introducing programme for teachers!
How can film be used in the classroom? What do we know today about audiovisual literacy and young audiences? And how can we put this knowledge into practice?
We invite teachers to take part in the BOO International Short Film Festival’s educational programme. You can look forward to the International Industry Forum and two practical workshops, which will offer inspiration, fresh perspectives and specific tools that can be used in the classroom.

What are the current issues in film and audiovisual education in Europe?
Come along to the festival’s largest interactive industry programme, dedicated to topics such as audiovisual education, research into audiovisual literacy, audience development and cultural resilience.
Dozens of experts from across Europe will come together in one place. Through presentations and themed round-table discussions, they will share their experiences, insights and expertise.
Workshop: How to Approach Audiovisual Literacy

For whom: mainly primary and secondary school teachers, but can also be inspiring for kindergarten teachers
How can film be used not just as a supplement to teaching, but as a tool that helps children better understand the world around them?
This practical workshop will be led by Jasper Vreken, a Dutch film education teacher and director of the Stichting Documaken foundation, which specialises in documentary filmmaking. He also leads the MSA Film Academy project, which focuses on making feature films in schools.
Jasper will show you specific ways to work with film and audiovisual content in the classroom.
Workshop: From Insight to Action – Working with Young Audience Data in Practice

What can data tell us about young audiences – and how can we put this into practice?
This practical workshop will be led by Dea Larsen, an audience engagement consultant at PUBLIKUM.io. She will focus on how to gather insights from young audiences, how to interpret them correctly and, above all, how to translate them into concrete actions and changes in practice.
