At Recypark Buda, the workers receive the waste... and also the customers’ moods. Through constantly sorting waste, the workers at Buda are gradually coming to be seen as no different from the material they handle. The film paints a portrait of a place, a social context, and of men regarded as the ‘safety net’ of our consumer society.
Raphaël Kaddour has been interested in genre cinema since early age. On leaving secondary school, he went straight into directing studies at the IAD in Belgium. At the end of his studies, he made a short documentary called Buda about the work of workers in a waste sorting centre.
