Designed for producers and students of film schools.

How is a television miniseries created, from the initial idea to the final realization? TV Nova creative producer Klára Follová will present a case study of the upcoming miniseries Monyová, which recently won the main award at the Serial Killer Festival and is inspired by the life of popular writer Simona Monyová. Programme will be introduced by Ilona Kleníková, publicist and author and moderator of podcast Hlas Heroine.

The masterclass will focus primarily on a detailed analysis of the production preparation, from the development of the concept, the assembly of the creative team, and the search for financing, to production planning and launch strategy. Participants will have a unique opportunity to gain insight into specific work processes that are key to development and production, and will learn about the practical decisions that producers face during the process.

The masterclass will be held in Czech and is primarily intended for film production students, but it will also be a source of inspiration for aspiring directors, screenwriters, and others interested in filmmaking who want to understand what goes into the creation of short-format miniseries.

Klára Follová is a creative producer at OnePlay and TV Nova. She is a graduate of FAMU and the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University and has about twenty years of experience in the field. She is currently working on three projects for OnePlay, all of which have significant social relevance. These include the drama miniseries Monyová about the life and toxic relationships of the highly successful Czech writer Simona Monyová, the documentary series Láska nebolí (Love Doesn't Hurt), which follows on from Monyová and takes a deeper look at the topic of violence in close relationships, transgenerational trauma transmission, and possible ways out, and the period miniseries Rekordwoman about the fate of the interwar intersex athletic star Zdena/Zdeněk Koubková/Koubek. Its themes are freedom, equality, and stereotypes.

Ivona Kleníková is the editor of Heroine magazine and the author and moderator of the Hlas Heroine podcast. She studied cultural theory at Charles University's Faculty of Arts. She has worked as an editor at Hospodářské noviny, Slovo daily newspaper, and Premiere film monthly. She joined Heroine in 2020. Her ambition is to use words and texts to help make the world a better, more entertaining, and fairer place to live.
