Dreaming of Flight

The cosy warmth of the henhouse and one simple task for our feathered heroine: to lay eggs like all the other hens. But as she watches the swallows chirping and soaring outside the window, a completely different longing awakens in her. She no longer wants to stay on the ground – she wants to fly! An animated tale about how important it is to dream.

After finishing her studies in design at the Moscow State University of Printing Arts in 2004, Elena Walf started to work as an illustrator. In the following years she illustrated for many kids’ magazines and several children’s books for publishing houses in Russia, Germany, Taiwan and South Korea. In 2015 she graduated at the renowned Institute of Animation, Visual Effects and Digital Postproduction at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. Since then she works as a director, animator and designer based in Stuttgart.
