Eldorado

From day to night, Otello, a construction worker and former tailor, moves between a sprawling Parisian construction site and a rundown nightclub on the brink of bankruptcy. There, he finds solace alongside his friend Bernardino Femminielli, a decadent entertainer whose talents shine in subversive variety acts. Otello would give anything to see his friend dazzle in this rotting paradise known as Eldorado.

Anton Bialas was born in 1990 in Paris, from a Swedish mother and a German father. His films, Behind our Eyes (2018), At the Entrance of the Night (2020), Blackbird Group (2021), Manta Ray (2022) and Ludwig (2024) have been selected and prized in numerous festivals (FIDMarseille, Berlinale, Visions du Réel, Locarno, Semaine de la critique). His latest film, Eldorado is a continuation of his works; in their exploration of marginal figures in search of poetic and subversive breaches.
