Granny's Cookbook

A hungry cat and a stray dog watch an old lady throw leftovers out the window. When they go to her door alone, they have no idea that in addition to a warm meal, they will also find a chilling truth. A darkly humorous animated fable about compassion, despair and the fine line between help and a trap.

Ruby Běhalová is a filmmaker and visual artist working across directing, 2D animation, production design, costume design, make-up, and prop making. Her completed projects include Magical Transformation (2024), which she directed and animated, Watched (2023), for which she served as director, screenwriter, and production designer, and her first animated short, Granny’s Cookbook (2025). She has also worked as production designer on Truth, Love and Lizards (2025, dir. Pavel Plesník) and Bro! (2025, dir. Filip Špinka).
