Hoofs on Skates

In a winter wonderland two friends are having a blast ice-skating on a frozen lake when suddenly a strange and unfamiliar world cracks open underneath them. Now they must learn how to deal with the other kind, not letting the fear and preconceptions rule.

The film participated in the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival 2025, the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival 2025, or the Warsaw International Film Festival 2024.

Ignas Meilūnas, born in 1985, grew up interested in Maths, graduated from VGTU (Vilnius) with BA degree in Engineering  and IT. After that, had been specializing as 3D animator, created sound and visual design for theatre and film productions. With main self-learnt interest in stop motion, started working as an animator and then as director, releasing the first short film Woods in 2015 and winning the National Award for Best Short Film. In 2020 he made another stop motion short Matilda and the Spare Head. Now working at his own stop motion studio in Vilnius.
