Into the Forest

In a quiet stop-motion studio, a small monkey opens its eyes. Everything around it feels frozen. On a computer screen, a luminous jungle appears, distant, almost alive. With two companions, it begins to build one of its own, using whatever they can find. A forest shaped by imagination, their only way out.

The film was screened at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2026 and the BFI London Film Festival 2026. The film has its Czech premiere at BOO 2026.

Antonin Niclass is a Swiss-French animation director. He began his career as a camera assistant in Switzerland before studying filmmaking at the Institut des Arts de Diffusion in Belgium, and later specialising in animation at the National Film & Television School in the UK. There, he directed his postgraduate film Do Not Feed the Pigeons, which won the BAFTA for Best Short Animation in 2022.
