Out of the Blue

Two teenage hotel workers stumble upon a beguiling social-media shoot. One sees her shot at glory, the other senses a hidden threat. What begins as a fleeting temptation soon unravels into a quiet battle that will test the limits of their friendship – and the price of their convictions. With sharp dialogue and darkness lurking beneath its apparent lightness, the film captures a generation caught between empowerment and manipulation.

Kevin Koch is a writer and director based in Berlin and Ludwigsburg. Since 2020, he has been studying directing at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. During his studies, he attended the film school La Fémis in Paris as part of an exchange program. Kevin is currently writing his first feature film DOGWHISTLE (WT), which has been selected for the Cutting Edge Talent Camp 2025 for early-stage script development. Furthermore, he will develop the script at LIM² | Less is more this year alongside 15 other directors from all over Europe.
