ELBE DOCK Award
A dream or a reality, the past or the present, the sacred or the profane? A poetic black and white film by Barbora Berezňáková triggers anxiety with its disturbing images but tries to calm the viewer down with its whispered voice-over. A coffin with the body of a grandmother, old dolls and dark corridors, but also beautiful nature and a warm feeling of togetherness. The director succeeded in capturing an intimate testimony on the disappearing world of the Ruthenian community in the east of Slovakia.
