The Fountain of Memory
Mia and Marcel have forgotten who they are and who they were to each other. They now reunite in a border forest marked by the Spanish Civil War, in search of a fountain said to restore lost memories. Along the way, past and present blur, as do personal, collective, and historical memory.
Jordi Sanz Angrill (2000, Barcelona) is a film director, screenwriter and editor. He holds a degree in Film and a Master's in Film Directing from ESCAC. His films explore memory and remembrance as mutable elements linked to spaces. His short film Sisters (2024) premiered in the official selection of the 26th Shanghai International Film Festival. His latest short film, The Fountain of Memory (2025), will also premiere in the official selection of the 27th Shanghai International Film Festival. He is currently in pre-production of Sismes (2026), the winning project of the first FICBueu Residency. He combines filmmaking with teaching and cultural management: he has directed four editions of the u22 Film Festival at the Joan Miró Foundation in Barcelona, was part of the official jury at the 31st L’Alternativa Film Festival, and in 2025 he joined the D’A Film Festival team as a programmer.
