Giant talking newts have been used by humankind both for labour and as laboratory animals for years. To optimize the exploitation, representatives of big corporations gather to attend the Newt Congress and discuss the issue in detail. This Swiss short, loosely based on Karel Čapek’s novel War with the Newts, intrigues the viewer with its economy (of the narrative as well as the visual effects) and the precision with which it captures the essence of one of the fundamental works of Czechoslovak literature.
