“Do you know where you wanna go to high school yet?” Ivan, the teacher, asks his student Tereza while massaging her foot in the dim light of the hotel room. Grooming is a game of subtle, gradual moves – and Ivan is a seasoned player. But for Tereza, it feels like love. And who runs away from that? Right, Dad?

Emília Ondriašová is a writer, director, and editor. Her film This Peculiar Day (2023) premiered at the Krakow Film Festival and competed at EnergaCAMERIMAGE. Building on her background in Marketing Communication, she studied directing at NFTS in the UK before continuing at VŠMU in Bratislava. She now directs commercials and has worked with NFE, TV Markíza, and RTVS.
