Warrior Heart

Vilja (12) loves wrestling even though she's terrified of pain and loses every match. When her parents separate, Vilja’s feelings shut down. Then mum’s new boyfriend’s daughter Thea turns out to be the star of the wrestling club. Can Vilja overcome her fear of physical as well as emotional pain?

The film participated in the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival 2025, the Reykjavik International Film Festival 2024, or the International Film Festival Rotterdam 2025. The film is having its Czech premiere.

Marianne Ulrichsen is a director and screenwriter from Northern Norway. Her short film Amazon screened at several international festivals and won The Tromsø Palm at TIFF and an Amanda Award for best Norwegian short film. My Sister, Myself won best screenplay at the Norwegian Short Film Festival, and her first short film, Come, was awarded Best Debut Film at Aspen.
