Who might connect with your film – and how can you reach these people before the film is finished?

In this practical workshop we will explore Audience Design as a creative and strategic process that begins during development – not only when a film is ready for release. After an introduction to the methodology, we will work with practical tools for identifying potential audiences, defining what makes a project distinctive, and translating its themes, emotions, and strengths into clear communication.

The workshop will focus particularly on what filmmakers and producers can do during development, viewed through the lens of PR, marketing, and social media. You will test selected tools using your own project and leave with practical ideas that can support you throughout the filmmaking process.

Workshop povede Monika Luczyk – a freelance PR and Marketing Manager specializing in film promotion and Audience Design. She develops communication strategies and coordinates PR campaigns for feature films and TV series, collaborating with production companies, distributors, and festivals. An alumna of the EAVE Marketing Workshop and Audience Design Lab, she also lectures in film promotion at the Warsaw Film School.

From 2019 to 2025, she worked with the production company Shipsboy, where she was responsible for PR and marketing, social media communication, and the coordination of festival distribution for film projects. She currently works as a freelance PR and marketing consultant. Her recent projects include PR coordination for CANAL+ Poland series productions, documentary feature film The Current (premiere at Millennium Docs Against Gravity 2026), feature film What Belongs to Others (premiere at Venice Film Festival 2026) as well as social media campaigns for the short films Kontrewers and A Short Film About War.

The workshop will be held in English. If you are interested in taking part, please fill out the registration form by October 9. To attend the event, valid Industry accreditation is required. You can find information on how to obtain Industry accreditation HERE.
