Melika Gothe | Berlinale | Generation Badge – 14plus

In 2025, the Berlinale Generation section introduced the concept of greater involvement of young audiences through the Generation Badge 14plus festival accreditation, intended for viewers aged 14–25. Section head Melika Gothe will discuss how the program has progressed over the past year and how it will continue. She will also present how this approach strengthens the relationship with young audiences and opens up new opportunities for their involvement in festival events.

Melika Gothe works as project manager in the field of audience development, film, festival and young audiences. She graduated in film studies and cultural mediation (Médiation Culturelle de l’Art/Kulturvermittlung) in Germany and France. Melika has been working for the Berlin International Film Festival for over 10 years and, together with Sebastian Markt, is heading the Generation section since 2022.
