Workshop: Film Writing

How can we turn an idea or concept—perhaps inspired by Lynch—into a plot and screenplay for a film?
That will be the task of our workshop. We will try to compile our ideas into a plot and an initial concept of what the film could look like and how it could be shot. We will explore how an idea is transformed into an image, how words are turned into scenes, and how atmosphere can be translated into the language of film.
The workshop will be led by Kristýna Kopřivová.
Kristýna studied humanities, curatorial studies/art history (in Prague, Israel, and London), and then documentary filmmaking at FAMU in Prague. She has made several films in the genres of documentary, hybrid documentary, and fiction. The award-winning film Al Amari, Temporary Stay (43 min) was her debut. She has published in art journals and magazines, appeared on Czech Radio 3 Vltava's Mozaika program, worked as a reporter and art lecturer on the UMAkart platform, curated exhibitions, worked as an assistant director, and taught film courses at the Scholastika school in Prague.
