ARCO and others – European Young Audience Award on January 17 at Kino Kavalírka

27. 12. 2025

Join us as a juror for a unique event on Saturday, January 17, when Kino Kavalírka will host an all-day screening of films nominated for the European Young Audience Award, an official category of the European Film Awards. The screening of films and subsequent voting by young viewers will take place simultaneously in 30 European countries, and in the Czech Republic, you will have the opportunity to see the films only at our venue!

Who are we looking for?

Film enthusiasts between the ages of 12 and 19.

What will the day look like?

Throughout the day, you will see three nominated films, followed by discussions with one of our lecturers. After the screenings, you and the other participants will vote for your favorite film. The film that receives the most votes (your votes will be counted along with all the other European votes) will receive an award that same day in Berlin at the European Film Academy Awards, which awards the best European films of 2025.

What films will you see?

Three feature films await you: the French animated sci-fi film Arco, which was screened at Cannes, won an award at the Annecy festival, and has just been nominated for a Golden Globe; the film I Accidentally Wrote a Book, which has been screened at numerous festivals (e.g., Tallinn Black Nights, Cinekid, and the Zlín Film Festival, where it won the Golden Apple award for the most popular feature film) and is one of the most successful Hungarian films of recent years, and finally the Italian film Siblings, which was awarded Best Debut of the Year by the Italian National Syndicate of Film Journalists and was also screened at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival, among others.

Arco will be screened in a Czech pre-premiere. The films I Accidentally Wrote a Book and Siblings are not distributed in the Czech Republic, so this is a unique opportunity to see them on the big screen.
