Women in the Industry programme

The subject of female perspectives and representation in film will also be reflected in this year's festival industry program. Come and be inspired by women who are changing the world of film! The festival will offer a series of events focused on women's voices in film, from a networking morning to a masterclass on producing and a discussion on shooting intimate scenes in short films. Events dedicated to women will create a space for sharing experiences, making new contacts, and open debate on changes in the film industry.

Case Study: Monyová
November 6, 2025 | 1:30 p.m. | DOX
How is a television miniseries created, from the initial idea to the final realization? TV Nova creative producer Klára Follová will present a case study of the upcoming miniseries Monyová, which recently won the grand prize at the Serial Killer festival and is inspired by the life of popular writer Simona Monyová. The masterclass will focus primarily on a detailed analysis of the production preparation, from the development of the concept, the assembly of the creative team, and the search for financing, to production planning and launch strategy. Programme will be introduced by Ilona Kleníková, publicist and author and moderator of podcast Hlas Heroine.
Intimacy in Film
November 6, 2025 | 4:00 p.m. | DOX
How should intimacy be approached on set in 2025? Why is it important for filmmakers and producers to consider involving intimacy coordinators from the very beginning of a film's development? And what about coordinating intimacy in short films, where there is no budget for it? These and many other questions related to approaches to intimate scenes in cinema will be answered in a joint discussion by intimacy coordinators Jana Neustupová and Martina Čurdová, together with actress Alžběta Malá. The discussion will be led by Ilona Kleníková, publicist and author and moderator of podcast Hlas Heroine.
November 7, 2025 | 10:00 a.m. | DOX
In this practical workshop, you will try out Audience Design on your own project – you will test several key methods: mapping potential viewers, defining the main attraction of the film and its brief positioning, and choosing the first points of contact. We will work with simple templates and quick feedback from others so that you can get a feel for how the whole process works. The goal is to learn this way of thinking, try it out on your own material, and leave with a clear idea of how to use the tools further – from development and pitching to the release of the film.
APA: Where have the viewers disappeared to?
November 7, 2025 | 4:00 p.m. | DOX
Petra Průšová will present the key findings of the Kantar 2024 study for APA (Association of Producers in Audiovisual), which aims to comprehensively describe the current state of the audiovisual industry in relation to the leisure activities of the Czech population. The research deliberately follows up on a similar study from 2014, offering a unique perspective on the changes and trends that have taken place over the last decade. The results of the study clearly show how Czech viewers watch films and series, how cinema attendance has changed, and how this behavior has evolved over time.
