Czech-German BOO – C
What If We Run Out of Stones? asks filmmaker Nora Štrbová, turning her attention in an unexpected direction. Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe! follows little Yios, whose uncontrollable shine makes it hard for him to fit in among the other children of the gods. Meanwhile, at Hotel Oblique, a budgie surrounded by perfect wellness begins longing for its own cage. Taxi Tales looks for remarkable lives behind the wheels of Berlin taxis. In “Vaterland” or A Bule Named Yanto, a young German-Indonesian man searches for his place between two cultures. And in To Bloom Again, a persistent raven accompanies a woman on her journey towards accepting loss.
Total duration is 84 minutes.
Films are screened in original language version with Czech and English subtitles.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the authors. The discussion will be held in English.
The winners are selected by a professional jury composed of female experts from the Czech Republic and Germany. The competition selection, which combines films from the best and largest festivals with promising discoveries, focuses primarily on works intended for adult audiences, but also gives space to films that appeal to children, teenagers, seniors, and other target groups. The festival thus transcends the usual boundaries – we are primarily interested in the quality of individual films.
Supported by the Czech-German Future Fund.
Online presale ends 15 minutes before the start of the screening. Unless the event is marked as sold out, tickets can be purchased on site.
